Summary

Is your breath balanced? You may think so, but often the inhale can be longer than the exhale, or vice versa. If you are giving too much of yourself, your body may be taking long inhales to make up for it. In today’s episode, Rachel will guide you through a breathing exercise to find balance. As your inhales and exhales match up, you may be surprised how grounded you feel afterward. Tune in to begin. Hi friends. Welcome back to the show. It's Wednesday today, and this week is all about

0:37.1

balance. So for our Wednesday practice,

0:40.6

I wanted to offer you a breathing exercise. So just a little bit of breath work. We're going to

0:46.4

spend just a couple of minutes finding a balanced breath. Now, this might sound very obvious or very easy. Like, of course, we have a balanced

0:57.3

breath, right? We inhale and then we exhale. But actually, oftentimes, we tend to have a little

1:03.7

bit more energy and a little bit more presence in one of those sides of the breath. So often the exhale is a little bit longer than the inhale,

1:14.2

or the inhale is longer than the exhale. And this also relates back to our sense of balance

1:21.4

as we are navigating our day, our sense of balance inside of our bodies. Do you have a lot of

1:27.1

output right now? Like you're giving a lot of

1:30.2

yourself. That could actually lead to having a much longer inhale than an exhale because your body

1:36.0

could feel this need to receive more, right? Or maybe our breath is very short because we are giving

1:42.6

a lot of ourselves and we need more in return,

1:45.0

but we don't have time and presence there. So we're inhaling kind of short breaths and we never

1:50.7

actually exhale everything all the way. So also depending on where we're at in life, how our

1:56.6

nervous systems are doing right now, our breath fluctuates all the time. And taking just three

2:02.6

minutes out of our day to find a steady, balanced breath can really shift how we feel and can really

2:08.6

shift our ability to be grounded here and now. What I've dedicated my life to is revenge.
