Well, speaking of paying off, paying things off. Oh. Student debt. That's the thing people have to pay off. That's true. It's the thing people talk about a lot. the thing both of us got to pay off. That's the thing I started paying off this month because my

six-month forbearance after I graduated was over. And I'm, yeah. And regardless of your position on student loans, maybe you think lazy liberal should pay them back. Maybe you think it should all be canceled, whatever. That's what I think. You can't help but have some empathy for the people that have student loans, you know? And I, well, I have a series of tweets here that I just, I saw this,

like, right after we recorded the pod last week, or maybe on Monday or something. And I just thought

it was an excellent exchange on Twitter, on my favorite website. So I'm going to read this. This first

guy says, my wife and I left

graduate school 23 years ago with a combined total debt of $70,000. Since then, we've made

$500 monthly payments for 23 years, so $120,000 plus. Today, we still owe $60,000. Explain to me

again why student loan debt should not be canceled.

Obviously, he's making the argument, right?

So then somebody follows up, a different person.

They say, so with two graduate degrees,

the two of you would have pulled in a lot of money,

but decided to only contribute $250 per person per month,

per month payment towards your student loan debt. So,

dismissive. First point, graduate degrees, do not guarantee that you're making a lot of money.

And then the original poster says, we are both teachers. Oh, fuck. And then they're making no money.

They're making no money. And then the Libertarian Party of connecticut no official account from the libertarian party

of connecticut says that explains everything nobody should be a teacher the open contempt for public

educators is crazy it's because you don't get it because you don't you don't think about economics as

much as i do you see if if people decided like if they all band it together and said, okay, I know nobody's going to be a teacher. I'm not going into this profession and I'm going to get everyone else to not go and become a teacher and we're just going to have a massive shortage of teachers for a couple of years. Then wages would have to rise up because it's a market. It's just it's so like the libertarian The Libertarian Party is just wholly irrelevant in American politics. They don't win anything.
