February, it's Black History Month.

That's right.

Important month.

This episode's coming out one day before the start of February.

Ooh.

And to kick off a lot of listeners will be listening to this in February.

So to really kick off our celebration of Black History Month and to remind everybody the purpose of it, I think we should start with some good old-fashioned racism.

From one of my favorite conservative commentators,

Charlie Kirk. Classic racist right there. Hallmark racist. Yeah. No, really like 1850s racism.

Uh-huh. Literally 18, wasn't he the guy that said we need to go back to the 50s and deal with these

issues like they did in the 50s? Yeah. So Charlie Kirk is just a classic racist conservative. Haven't heard from him very much lately. He fell off. But you know, Black History Month is a time for reflecting and celebrating the accomplishments of black people in this country, but also reminding ourselves what, how bad it was before. Exactly. And, you know, the trials and tribulations that we've gone through to make it better, even if we're not completely at a point where it's very good. You know, dare I say it should also be a time to just wholeheartedly and unrelentingly clown on racists. Yeah. Well, yeah, it's that certainly. But I also want to take a chance to look at what conservatives have on offer in terms of what society would look like if they got in control.

Exactly. Let's look at what they want.

Yeah. So I've got a clip here from Charlie Kirk's podcast called Thought Crime.

Thought, nah. And that's certainly what it's about to be. So buckle up for this take.

It has to do specifically with DEI practices, which has been the kind of culture war thing recently.

So let's go ahead and take a listen.

And that's why I think this United story and the DEI story hits so hard because we've all been in the back of a plane when the turbulence hits or when you're flying through a storm and you're like, I'm so glad I saw the guy with the right stuff and the square jaw get into the cockpit before we took off. And I feel better now. I mean, like, you want to go thought crime? Like, I'm sorry. If I see a black pilot, I'm going to be like, boy, I hope he's qualified. Well, that's the, you wouldn't have done that. You wouldn't have done that before. That's not an immediate, no, you ended up before. That's not who I am. That's not what I believe.

That's what you said. That's what you said. I think that that might be racism. You said, if I see a black pilot, I'm shaking in my boots. Now, I feel like I shouldn't have to do this. But the reason that there's a, the reason that they're talking about this is the reason that

they're talking about this is because airlines have started implementing DEI practices.

In DEI, diversity, equity, and inclusion has been this sort of boogeyman for people on the

right because they, you know, don't like minority people.
