Khalil Garland came to Arkansas as one of the Lindsey Gough.

Kaleo Garland came to Arkansas as one of the state's top prospects in 2017, wanting nothing

more than to build his own basketball legacy.

He had big dreams about his future and was excited to get to work.

And then suddenly everything changed.

I play pick up my first two days and then we had to stop because we have to go get tested

and that's when they figured out something what's wrong with me. The routine

physical revealed a rare heart condition known as cardiomyopathy, a diagnosis which made his basketball future at best uncertain.

You know, Kaleh went through some tests and based on those results,

she's not been medically cleared to participate in practice right now. So at this point

of time he's not practicing. The information was kept private for some time, but

Khalillo's playing days were over in the sport he loved, taken away.

Any hard movements, I get bumped the wrong way on the court.

I could possibly pass out or die.

I have so many questions like why is this happening?

Because I feel fine and I'm like I'm sitting on the bench,

I'm sitting on the sidelines knowing and I can't play and I know I can be out here doing what they're doing.

It was so hard for me my sophomore year.
