Summary

On today's podcast, we tackle some controversial questions. First, I offer my thoughts about how I'm processing the Ravi Zacharias Scandal. Next I talk with Marcia Montenegro about the most common false teaching you've probably never heard of: Perennialism. You may not have heard the word before, but it is gaining popularity in the church. Finally, I talk with Clark Bates about how the original New Testament Manuscripts were copied. Ever wonder what happened after the Apostle Paul wrote an Epistle to a certain church or region? Clark breaks it down for us.

Welcome to the Alisa Children's Podcast. I'm so glad you're here. We're going to do something

0:21.9

a little bit different this week. Typically we focus on one topic for the whole, you know, 40 minutes

0:28.1

to an hour. But today I'm going to bring you three different topics broken up into segments,

0:33.9

so to speak. If you listened last week, you'll remember that I popped in about halfway through

0:38.7

to let you know that this podcast is also available on video format. So we launched a YouTube channel.

0:46.4

And since we launched it, I've been releasing this podcast, the content that you listen to here

0:52.4

on the video format. So you can go there if you prefer to watch me interact with my guests or talk

0:57.5

into the camera. You can go check that out there. But one thing we've also done is starting to release

1:03.2

shorter videos. So this first segment we're going to bring you is called Thoughts on the

1:08.0

Ravi Zacharias scandal when your lifeboat springs a leak. Friends, I just want to take a few minutes

1:14.9

here to just share from my heart about the Ravi Zacharias scandal. And if you're not familiar with

1:21.5

what's going on, Ravi Zacharias was a very famous speaker, author, apologist, very influential in

1:30.8

the apologetics community. Many apologists would say that his organization and his lectures and

1:38.8

books and words were incredibly impactful in their own journeys toward becoming apologists. He

1:45.4

died of cancer last May. And allegations have been brought out of sexual misconduct. Just you can

1:54.4

go online to look at all of those. And in the last few days, Ravi's organization RZIM has confirmed

2:02.4

that their ongoing investigation shows that he is guilty of the sexual misconduct. And in fact,

2:10.9

in the report, they even say, and I'll just quote this here, it says, credible evidence that Mr.

2:17.7

Zacharias engaged in sexual misconduct over the course of many years. Some of that misconduct

2:23.8

is consistent with and corroborative of that which is reported in the news recently.

2:30.0

And some of the conduct we have uncovered is more serious. And so not only what we're reading in

2:37.5

the different outlets that have reported on this, what RZIM is saying is that it's actually worse.
