I'm going to introduce you to John Cooper of the Band skillet. Now John made headlines last year

with a viral Facebook post responding to some of the deconstruction stories that we're seeing among

Christian celebrities. And I knew back then I've got to get him on the podcast. And so John,

it is so great to have you on. Welcome. I'd love for you to tell our viewers and our listeners

just a little bit about your story. We know that you're this famous rock star,

multi-platinum selling artist skillet has been so popular. But what's your story as growing up?

Did you grow up in the church or what was that like for you? Sure, sure. Well it's great to be here

with you. Thanks for having me on. And for people listening, they might not have ever known that we

did shows together. Yes. But we did shows together, baby. That's right.

About 5,000 years ago. In fact, I have to just pop in and say this. We did a lot of those

summer ones together, like this shout fest and things like that where it was like all hard rock bands.

And then little Zoe Girl, doing our team pop. And so sometimes we felt out of place. Sometimes it

felt like we were performing to an audience that was politely tolerating us while they're waiting

to get their skillet on or their audio adrenaline or something. But I just remember how, this is so

vivid in my mind. Just how absolutely kind you and Corey, your wife were and your whole band.

I mean, I just mind memory of skillet was that you guys would go out of your way to be warm and

welcoming to us in an environment that wasn't probably our natural habitat. So I wanted to
