And welcome to episode 9 of Geek's Guide to the Galaxy.

Today we'll be speaking with Carrie Vaughn, author of the best-selling Kitty Norville series

about a werewolf named Kitty who runs a radio collin show for Supernatural Creatures.

Book 8, Kitty Goes to War will be out this summer.

Carrie also has a young adult book coming out this month

called Voices of Dragons, and her short fiction

will be appearing soon in some of the anthologies

that George R. Martin has been involved with,

including Warriors, Songs of Love and Death, and Wild Cards.

And she also has stories in My Anthologies by Blood We Live in the forthcoming Mad's Guide to World Domination.

So you know I first met Carrie years ago because we're both graduates of the Odyssey

writing workshop and she and I have published our stories in all the same magazines like

realms of fantasy and weird tales sometimes

actually in the same exact issue so like I read the first Kitty Norville story

when it first appeared so it's been kind of fun to see an author's career develop

like that from the very beginning.

And you know since then, Carrie and I have both gone on to great things.

So like now she has a best selling series and I'm hosting a podcast.

So we thought it would be fun to check in with Carrie now that she's a big star and see how things are going.
