Hopes for a rapid ceasefire between Israel and Hezbollah were quickly dashed this morning.

Israel's Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu says reports of an agreement are, quote,

incorrect, and that he's told his country's military to continue fighting with quote full force.

The comments follow a push by the US and some of its allies at the UN last night for a

21 day ceasefire.

Netniyahu is set to speak in front of the UN's General Assembly

tomorrow and an Israeli official earlier told CNN that ceasefire talks were one reason for

his visit. On the ground Israel and Hezbollah are still trading waves of

strikes with Israel's military saying around 45 rockets were launched from Lebanon this

morning. Israel's attacks have killed over 500 people since Monday, including dozens of children.

Because of the crossfire, the UN says more than 90,000 people are newly displaced in Lebanon,

and some are even attempting to find safety in

neighboring Syria. We are refugees from Nevada A going to Syria. We try to escape to

Beirut but there was no housing or anything. We hope that they opened the borders

so we can go to our people in Syria. God knows best. Anywhere in God's land, where can we go?
