journalist, author, survivor, and advocate from New Zealand.

She was born into a family with a great deal of history and many layers of generational trauma

that normalized abusive behavior from as early as she can remember.

It wasn't until escaping her family home

and eventually forging her own family,

as well as healing through writing and speaking,

that Mary truly began to understand the impact of her journey.
