does low serotonin cause depression?

A recent study came out that seemed to indicate that serotonin was not involved in the development of depression at all.

And I think it is very dangerous to sort of throw the baby out with the

bathwater, so to speak. Yes, we're learning more about the serotonin system, and we're learning

more about what causes depression, and it's not all just serotonin. So I think it's important to look at

what we might be talking about here.
