Hi, this is Steve. When we launched our Patreon campaign, we couldn't wait to find out what kind of movies our patrons would pick.

Naturally, we assumed our cinephile audience would suggest classic films from the great directors,

and certainly filmmakers like Hitchcock, Kubrick, just classic films from the great directors.

And certainly filmmakers like Hitchcock, Copeland,

Coraiseau and Scorsese are well represented on our patron page.

But the number one pick from our patrons isn't exactly a much revered classic or heavy drama foreign film.

It's a 1986 American Kung Fu satire starring Kurt Russell, Dennis Dunn, and the great James Hong as Mr David Lowe-Pan.

That's right. Big Trouble in Little China is coming to the cinnophiles and I couldn't be more excited about it.

The truth is, big trouble was probably number one in the VHS rotation when I was in college,

and there was a time I could practically quote the whole movie from beginning to end. And to make it even more exciting,

we're joined by improv performer Catherine Cobbs

who just might love this movie even more than I do.
