What is up everyone? Welcome back to the show. Today we're going hardcore. We're talking high yield

when we're talking tomatoes. Yes, tomatoes. Probably the favorite crop of most gardeners out there. I know I certainly love them myself.

And we're talking today about how to take your tomatoes to the next level and then some.

Did you know that most gardeners are getting roughly 10 pounds of tomatoes

per plant?

And I'm in that category.

Sometimes I get more, but for the most part I'm content there because I'm growing a few different varieties

every season and I'm okay getting 50 pounds of tomatoes from five different varieties

that's okay with me but did you know that you can get 50 to 80 pounds of tomatoes from every tomato plant that you grow for the most part?

It's really, really simple, but you do have to follow a specific method. So first of all, you need to

select the right plans for your area, and I cannot personally recommend that

because I don't know everyone's area. The best way to do that is to

call up the master gardeners in your area or call up a university agricultural extension and

they will recommend some of the highest producing varieties in your particular climate.

Next, when you buy those transplants or when you start those seeds and

transplant it into your final soil, where you're going to grow those tomatoes.

Lay the plants on their side, so the tips will grow upwards,

and you'll be burying more of that stem tissue,

which will all sprout roots, develop that healthy root system, and

spur it on towards much better growth. When you do make that transplant,

transplant it in, but add a fourth to a half cup of cottonseed meal

osmocote etc any sort of organic fertilizer to that trench I would recommend the
