Thank you so much for listening. Thank you for supporting me. And today, I want to talk about the moment of revelation. This is a line that I heard Rick Rubin say in an interview about that

1:05.7

moment when clarity hits and you could finally break free of overthinking or something like that. I always thought

1:12.0

that that was great wording, the moment of revelation. And I think I've stumbled to pause across a

1:17.8

question that you could ask yourself that will help present a moment of revelation for you. That is,

1:24.1

if you're deciding what to do, if you're deciding what not to do, you ask yourself

1:27.5

this question, and voila, hopefully you find yourself amidst a moment of revelation. It's a question

1:34.1

that breaks you free of overthinking. And I'll tell you what it is in just a second, but I was

1:39.4

thinking earlier about what, you know, what a, what's a i could tell about how how i've come to realize this and

1:45.4

i recall a couple of years ago a really good friend of mine was caught kind of in a in a dead end job

1:51.8

he had been in this job in a long time i'd actually worked with him like 10 years ago and he was still

1:56.2

there and you know he basically said the same thing he's been saying for a long time that he wanted to leave his job but he kept saying he can't you know, he basically said the same thing he's been saying for a long time, that he wanted to leave his job. But he kept saying he can't. You know, he didn't say he didn't want to leave. He didn't say that he wasn't ready to leave. He didn't say, oh, the timing wasn't right. He simply said that he couldn't leave. And, you know, anytime someone is like so certain about something with the way that they speak about it, it always catches my attention.

2:20.0

I'm like, anytime someone is really certain about something, it's time to get curious about why.

2:25.6

And so I asked them, I said, you know, why can't you leave?

2:28.6

And he said very certainly, he said that, well, the market is terrible right now.

2:33.9

No one is hiring. And I was like, well, the market is terrible right now. No one is hiring.

2:36.1

And I was like, well, that's reasonable.

2:37.9

But, you know, we're close friends.
