and my goal is to give beginning gardeners be talking about how to grow a salsa garden.

Over the Christmas break, my best friend and I were sitting together and talking about gardening, and she gardens a little bit, but not as

much as I do. In fact, I think she lives vicariously through me because when I go on vacation,

she comes and takes care of my garden. So it's a win-win for both of us.

But one thing that she talked to me about was a challenge that she has found in her garden.

She grows a garden mainly for salsa.

She grows tomatoes and peppers and cilantro and the different ingredients that she wants to can salsa but she found it frustrating

because everything seemed to come ripe at different times i don't know if you've had that problem

or not before but i think it's a fairly common problem in fact one of the main reasons many

home gardeners grow tomatoes at all is to make their own salsa.

Truly, there is no better salsa than one made with fresh-picked tomatoes from your garden.

Planning a salsa garden isn't difficult, but as my friend learned, the biggest challenges lie in knowing when to plant and what to do with

certain crops when they come to harvest earlier than others. In this episode, I'm going to go

through a lot of information for you. And I want to tell you up front, do not worry about
