As a child, whenever I heard people talking about the armor of God in church, usually there was this sketch of the Roman soldier that had, you know, the helmet and the belt and the shoes.

But typically the armor of God ended with the sword of the spirit. Like, that's it. That's the

full armor of God that he gives us. But when we look at Ephesians chapter 6, at the actual

listing of the armor of God, there is one very important weapon that we cannot afford to overlook.

And yet, I think it is the one that we disregard most often.

And that is the weapon of prayer.

I'm your host, Ashrida Choochoochoo, and this season we're putting on the armor of God.

And I don't think we can end this season until we learn how to take up the weapon of prayer.

And so that's what we'll be doing today.

So take a deep breath and quiet your heart as we become aware of God's loving presence around us and within us.

Today's passages come from Ephesians chapter 6 verse 18 and Romans chapter 8,

verses 26 to 27. And pray in the spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests.

With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord's people.

In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness.

We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us through

wordless groans.

And He who searches our hearts knows the mind of the Spirit because the spirit intercedes for God's people

in accordance with the will of God. Let's begin by reciting God's goodness. Father God,

what a generous Father you are.

That you would give us these heavenly weapons with divine power to demolish strongholds.

But not only that, you give us your own spirit.
