Colorado Supreme Court has banned former President Trump from the state's

ballot citing the Constitution's insurrection clause ruling that Trump's speech on January 6th

that incited the crowd that breached the capital was not protected by the

First Amendment. The ruling has been stayed until January 4 to allow for an appeal.

Meanwhile, in North Carolina, Trump's name will appear on the primary ballot after a challenge was dismissed.

A retired lawyer trying to challenge having former President Trump's name on the primary

ballot in North Carolina, but the State Board of Elections dismissed it, saying they didn't think

they had the authority to keep his name off the ballot. The decision can be appealed. The voter

wrote that the former president wasn't qualified because he violated a

section of the 14th Amendment that keeps anyone from holding office if they

once took an oath to uphold the Constitution, but then engaged

in insurrection or rebellion.

Foxes Jessica Rosenthal, the Trump campaign calls the Colorado disqualification ruling flawed

and says it will file an appeal with the US Supreme Court.

Civil rights organizations have filed a lawsuit challenging a Texas law set to go into effect

in March that would allow police to arrest migrants suspected of crossing

the border illegally.

The American Civil Liberties Union is spearheading the group challenge of the law, which

allows prosecution of migrants who illegally enter or reenter from a foreign country.

The plaintiffs argue the law will not allow migrants to seek asylum or humanitarian protection

from the U. the US government.
