They could face arrest. I'm Lee Silasera, Fox News. Texas Governor Greg Abbott has

signed a law that would allow police to arrest migrants who enter the US

illegally. He says inaction by President Biden has forced Texas to fend for itself.

It creates a criminal offense for illegal entry into Texas from a foreign nation.

For repeat offenders, it creates the offense of illegal reentry with a

potential prison sentence term of up to 20 years.

Access has passed more than 65,000 migrants to cities across the country and installed

razor wire along the Rio Grande.

The bill likely faces legal challenges.

Talks but no real progress as the Senate takes up a border security measure.

Republican Senator Roger Wicker said that he expects a deal with Democrats by the end of

the week on border security and there's been a lot of cross chamber

consulting to ensure that whatever they put together can also pass the house.

But that does not amount to any movement yet.

The minority whip, John Th Thune said that this is nowhere

near ready for a vote this week and he blamed Democrats for stalling on the

border proposal that Republicans submitted the first week in November.
