I'm Lee Silicera, Fox News, former House Speaker Kevin McCarthy denying reports that he will

step down from Congress before the end of his term, his coming days after he was ousted

from his leadership role, as other Republicans are jockeying for position ahead of an expected

vote next week on a new speaker, including Judiciary Committee Chair Jim Jordan.

Former President offered himself as an alternative to conventional speaker candidates, then reversed

himself backing Jordan. Troy Nell's champion, Mr. Trump for Speaker, but now will vote

for Jordan.

If that's what the leader of our party thinks is the right thing to do, I will support

that.

The Trump endorsement likely boosts Jordan among Trump loyalists, but it could alienate

Republicans who want a clean break from the former president.

Fox's chat program on Capitol Hill, House Majority Leader Steve Scalise is also running

those some Republicans have expressed concern as he battles blood cancer.

Biden says his policies are responsible for the improved jobs numbers.

The Labor Department reports 36,000 jobs were added in September.
