This is a Fox News Alert, a record sentence.

Simley Silicera, the leader of the far right group, The Proud Boys, has been sentenced

to more than 20 years in federal prison for his role in the Capitol riot.

And Rike Tario had been arrested two days before January 6th and wasn't even at the

Capitol, but prosecutors say he ran things from his hotel in Baltimore.

To the judge before sentencing, Tario begged for mercy, asking Judge Timothy Kelly not

to take his forties from him, saying it was wrong to invoke 1776 and compare a fellow

proud boy to George Washington.

He apologized several times and said he hoped to make amends to those who wear the police

badge one day.

Before sentencing him to 22 years in prison, Judge Kelly said Tario was the leader and

organizer, and this seditious conspiracy ended up with 200 men amped up for battle in circling

the Capitol.

Majority leader Chuck Schumer says by the end of the month, they all must get on the

same page about keeping the government open.
