The U.S. fires on and seizes an Iranian flagship near the Strait of Hormuz.

CENTCON confirms the U.S. Navy's destroyer fired into the ship's engine room and seized the ship after it allegedly violated the U.S. blockade.

Fox's Alex Hogan has more from the White House.

What had been a standstill in the Strait of Hormuz now major escalation with President

Trump posting on Truth Social that this Iranian cargo ship tried to get past the U.S.

naval blockade.

This is part of what he wrote.

The U.S. Navy-guided missile destroyer USS Bruins intercepted the Tuska in the Gulf of Oman and gave

them fair warning to stop. The Iranian crew refused to listen, so our Navy ships stopped them

right in their tracks by blowing a hole in their engine room. The president went on to say that the

U.S. has the ship in custody, and they are currently examining one is on board.

The White House is accused Iran of violating the ceasefire by opening fire on vessels.

And Iran argues that the U.S. is violating the deal with its naval blockade.

And the incident throws into question, President Trump's earlier announcement today,

that a second round of peace talks would start Tuesday in Pakistan.

Iran has reportedly rejected those talks.

Police in Shreveport, Louisiana, say the gunman who murdered eight children and injured two women this morning was 31-year-old Army veteran Shemar Elkins.

City Councilwoman Tabitha Taylor told reporter she is struggling to understand why anyone

would do something so unthinkable.
