I'm Dave Anthony Fox News. That's China's response to a balloon that suspected of flying

over the US doing surveillance. So foreign ministry spokesman says they're looking into

it and have no intention of violating any country's territory or air space.

Well, according to a senior US official President Biden was presented with the option to

shoot this balloon down and while the White House has not ruled that out, we're told

that such action will not happen so long as there are risks of heavy equipment crashing

to the ground and causing injury.

Now, the spy balloon was spotted over Montana.

And that is significant because the state is home to a mallstrom air force base in

a large portion of the US's nuclear arsenal. The Pentagon says there is no active threat.

House Speaker Kevin McCarthy calls it brazen. You know, the congressional leaders got

a briefing on it yesterday.

The US has expected today to announce it will send longer range missiles to Ukraine,

part of a military aid package to help it fend off Russia's invasion.

As the European leaders visit Kiev today for talks, the aim of this summit is to show solidarity

with Ukraine with an emphasis on such a meeting taking place in a war zone. It's a political

message to Moscow that European support isn't waning.
