MacPall users episode 79, Hazel 3.0. Hello everyone this is David Sparks along with me is my friend Katie Floyd how are you today

Katie oh David I'm glad to be back thank you so much for filling in for me last

episode on such short notice I really appreciate it no worries and it's great to have you back and today we're going to go

back to one of our very favorite apps on the Mac Hazel. Hazel is an automation

tool I guess for lack of a better word that just came out with version 3.0 and we did a

show on this I don't know was it a couple years ago it was it was it was it was one of

our earlier shows I think it was in the single digits.

Yeah, so we've always liked this app and the 3.0 version came out and added a lot of great features.

And we decided, let's just do it again and kind of start from the beginning but we'll also

include all the great new features included in Hazel 3.0 and in addition to

talking about the new features in Hazel 3.0 we put a call out to our very smart listeners and got some great

hazel rules that I'd never thought of and so we're gonna just kind of

talk through some of our favorite Hazel rules as long as along with some of those that we got from the

listeners so I think this kind of go ahead I was just gonna say this kind of goes

along with our automation theme that that we wanted to kick off a little bit

this year but it's it's easy automation

it's automation that anybody can do. Yeah this is automation without any

programming which is pretty nice and that's my kind of automation. In a lot of ways, Hazel does the kind of stuff that people learn Apple

script to do in the first place.

So you may find this is all you need.

But I know a lot of listeners and readers that have picked up on Hazel and use it all

the time.
