It is in the air. We've got pollen and the grass is starting to become green again and you know we're

getting outside again and now it's time to clean. Yes it's time to clean up your

Mac. It is and you know I must say cleaning up your Mac is a lot easier than

So that's what we're going to talk about in this episode is, you know, we tend to get a little cruft tied up in our max from time to time or maybe you're looking ahead and thinking

about mountain line coming up sometime later the summer and you want to get your Mac running lean clean and mean in preparation for mountain lion or you know it's just good to every once in a while you know stretch and clean and and get all the

dust bunnies out of the corner so that's what we're going to talk a little bit about today and

anybody if you create a lot with your Mac, which I do, you tend to generate lots of files. I mean, I do family videos, I write books, I do

podcast, so I've got lots of fun stuff I'm always doing on my Mac and that creates big data files and it's easy to

lose track of those and sometimes all of a sudden you realize you've got a bunch of stuff on your computer

you really don't need.

And with the age of SSD and the fact that you know our drives are a lot of times

smaller than we're used to, you have to pay more attention now than you used to I think.

Well and you know to I think. Well, and you know, the OS upgrade cycle is different now too, and Apple has told us that we can

expect it to be different going forward.

Used to be that every 18 months to two years, we'd all go stand in line at the Apple store, get a shiny new CD, and come home and reinstall this on our max, and that would be a perfect opportunity to do this new can pave procedure and wipe everything out and start from fresh and basically have a brand new
