This is an interview of me, on The Fit For Fitness Podcast with Steven Davis -- a local Seattle Trainer. He came down to the Tailored Coaching Method Headquarters to spend some time with me and we had a REALLY good conversation around the art of coaching, using methods that aren't proven by research (but do support the science), how to create serious change in clients, and more…

It goes way beyond just training and nutrition and helps you create a life by design.

I'm your host, Cody McBroom, and today I am going to share an interview that was done of me on a friend's podcast out here in Seattle.

0:26.1

So my good friend and fellow trainer, Stephen Davis came down from the city.

0:30.8

He came down from Seattle, Capitol Hill, and he came out to the headquarters to get a training session in and to record a podcast for his show.

0:37.1

His show is called Fit for Fitness, and a podcast for his show. His show is

0:37.5

called Fit for Fitness and I was actually episode five. So it is a new podcast. One that I think you

0:42.5

0:45.8

podcast because honestly it was just a great conversation. That really happens a lot when I'm able to

0:50.4

talk with somebody in person like live in the studio, so to speak. So he came to my

0:54.9

office. We talked about a lot of different things, but it kind of centered around my coaching

0:59.5

approach, especially in regards to using non-scientific methods to not necessarily defy science,

1:08.3

but abide by science or just use what I need from science. And so he

1:12.5

actually came into it wanting to kind of like have me debunk science a little bit, come into it like,

1:16.7

hey, what non-scientific methods do you use? When do you not agree with the science? How are you,

1:20.8

how is your coaching differ from the science? And a lot of it circled back to how I use

1:26.0

non-science based or non-proven methods that are more

1:29.1

just from my experience and anecdote as a trainer and a coach for over a decade and how I use

1:33.9

those things to make sure that the client is still abiding by the scientific principles to get the

1:37.8

best results possible. So we kind of bounced around between training and nutrition, but it was

1:42.5

truly an episode around like the art of coaching and how science matters a lot, but there's just so much that science
