Hello and welcome to the new mindset hootis podcast. My name is Case Kenney at case.kens.k on

you become the person you're meant to be, leave your comfort zone and live a purposeful and

fulfilling life. Let's go.

Thank you. live a purposeful and fulfilling life. Let's go. All right. Welcome to episode 733. Hello, my friend. Welcome to a fresh new episode of New Mindset Who Dis, as always. Thank you so much for listening. Thank you for supporting me. And today, in an effort to help you and me be happier and more free and more aligned with ourselves, I want to help us escape these circumstances in life where we finally do the difficult thing. We stand up for ourselves. We say, that's not enough for me. We make the tough decision, the thing we know

1:16.9

needed to be done. But then someone else calls us selfish for doing it, or they say we're

1:22.9

asking for too much, or we're doing too much. They basically shame us. They try to make us feel guilty for

1:29.1

doing the best for us. In those instances, I want to help us stand firm and not feel guilty, not feel bad,

1:37.4

1:50.6

the consequences of their own actions. And I just thought that was so true. And the more we can

1:57.0

hold that in our heads when someone tries to throw a standard or a boundary or whatever it may be

2:02.6

back at us, the more we can hold firm in knowing we did the right thing, no matter how someone

2:08.5

tries to shame us, that is the most powerful thing we can do. So it's a really true statement.

2:13.6

Don't let someone make you feel guilty because they are suffering the consequences of their actions.

2:20.1

It's true.

2:21.0

It's powerful because people will always try to hand you guilt when their life unravels or when you don't fill in the blank in the way they wanted to when you don't meet their expectation.

2:32.4

And when that happens, for them, it's the easiest way

2:35.3

to dodge responsibility by trying to make you feel guilty. But we don't have to fall for it.

2:40.7

We don't have to let someone else convince us that their pain is our fault when it's the direct

2:46.4

result of the choices they made. Like some examples I could think of from my own life. Think about a friend
