Summary

Be guided in a meditation using a mudra technique for inner stillness. In this meditation you'll discover a simple mudra technique to help you experience a deep sense of inner calm. Throughout this week's series you'll learn how to do meditation techniques to experience your own inner stillness. This is part 4 of a 7-Part Inner Stillness Meditations, Episodes 710-716.

As always, you don't have to do the meditation techniques -- they are simply there to help you transition from your busy day to a state of stillness. The techniques also help to calm "monkey mind," when your thoughts continuously interrupt your meditation.

podcast and each technique is customized around a weekly theme. So we explore a theme in depth

0:37.4

throughout the entire week using many different meditation techniques.

0:43.3

And I always provide you with stories or research or context so that you can apply some of the principles of meditation into a meditation lifestyle for yourself.

0:59.5

And in today's meditation, it's a Wednesday as I record this meditation, and this is the day that I share a mudra.

1:12.6

Now don't be alarmed if you're not really sure what a mudra is.

1:17.6

I really didn't do mudras when I meditated for over a decade

1:23.6

and so I completely understand where that word, just the word mudra, might kind of throw you off a little bit,

1:31.6

but many people tell me now that mudras are their best meditation technique that they use all the

1:40.2

time throughout their day. And I have to say that is the same for myself as well.

1:46.0

So you might want to just try today's mudra. You don't ever have to do the meditation

1:51.2

technique I offer. But I challenge you to try the technique to see how it works for you. You never

1:59.2

know what might work best for you. And throughout

2:04.2

this week, we've been participating in a week-long challenge customized around the theme. So

2:12.5

every week I also offer you a meditation challenge. It's a way for you to really incorporate some of these

2:21.7

themes into your everyday life, taking your meditation off your cushion and into some of the

2:29.9

most trying times in your life where stress triggers are coming your way and you need a way to be

2:38.6

calm. You can try some of these meditation techniques to help you. Well back to

mudras. A mudra is a Sanskrit word and it means, basically it means gesture.
