The Vatican said the Pope's condition has worsened. His prognosis remains guarded. They went on to say in a statement saying that

Pope Francis is in critical condition, suffered a long asthmatic respiratory crisis this morning.

He has had blood transfusions because of low platelet counts, but remains alert.

Yesterday, Pope Francis medical team, they had a big press conference saying he is not out of

danger, but his condition is not life-threatening, but warned at 88 years old, he's a fragile patient, and his recovery will take time.

Doctors have warned that the main threat would be the onset of sepsis.

As of yesterday, that is, they said there was no evidence of that.
