condition after he was hospitalized for double pneumonia and a complex lung infection. Fox's

Jeff Paul has the latest from Rome. The Vatican putting out a statement saying that the Pope is still

in critical condition, but he is not undergoing any sort of respiratory crisis.

But they do admit that blood tests show he's starting to show a mild case of kidney failure.

But they do say they believe they have that under control at the moment.

He also received two more blood transfusions.

The Vatican described the Pope as vigilant and well-oriented

and saying he even attended mass with those who are taking care of him. The Pope suffered from

a prolonged asthmatic respiratory crisis, receiving high flows of oxygen to help him breathe.

While we know he is still on oxygen, he's alert, and he's breathing on his own.

pontiff thanked well-wishers around the world for their prayers. German Chancellor Olaf Schultz

diverted to Rome after reports of a bomb threat. American Airlines telling us that reported bomb threat

is non-credible. The flight had departed from New York's John F. Kennedy International

Airport and was bound for India's capital, New Delhi, according to the FAA, which says the flight

had to be diverted to Rome after the crew reported the issue. The airline now releasing a statement

saying in part, quote, the flight landed safely at Leonardo da Vinci Airport,

and law enforcement inspected and cleared the aircraft to redepart.
