Lugovier, filmmaker, health and science journals, and the author of the New York Times best-selling

book Genius Foods. In this episode of the show, I'm super excited to introduce you to my

friend Lauren Miller Rogan. Lauren is an actor, a filmmaker, and along with her husband

Seth, started the foundation, Hilarity for Charity. At a young age, Lauren's mother developed

Alzheimer's disease, and she decided to do everything in her power to help support caregivers

and raise awareness about the condition. They run star-studded comedy events all around

the US, and last year debuted their first ever Netflix special. According to USA Today,

Hilarity for Charity has raised more than $7.5 million to date, and some of that money

is now going toward prevention efforts, which we're going to get into.

Over the next hour, we're going to discuss what it's really like to have a loved one

with dementia. How Lauren is using celebrity and humor to get younger people talking about

the condition, and the specific steps that Lauren is now taking to minimize her risk, seeing

as how her family treat is littered with the disease. We're going to go into sleep,

exercise, and of course, diet, including Lauren's relationship with ice cream. This is one

of my favorite discussions that I've had on the genius life to date, partly because I
