And I'm David Ullasoga, and this is the second in our series on the Chernobyl disaster of 1986,

And we're in 1986, the year of the disaster to start this episode.

So, David, last time we looked at how the Soviet system, with its culture of secrecy,

with its corner-cutting, with impossible quotas, created the conditions for disaster.

But today, we're going to see how all of that came together on that one catastrophic night
