I'm Mary Meckley and I'm a meditation teacher who shares a different meditation technique every day on the podcast.

And I want to congratulate you for giving yourself permission to slow down and connect to the best part of who you are.

Because that's what you do when you sit down to meditate.

Whether you're listening to these meditations as you do errands or chores around your home or maybe you're out walking or maybe you're

lying down getting ready to go to sleep that is perfect the best way to listen to the meditations

is right where you are everybody Everybody starts their journey somewhere.

And I know that for myself, I started with tea.

I started becoming used to slowing down and getting ready to experience stillness

by giving myself a tea break, usually in the afternoon, and

I would sit and enjoy a cup of tea.

And this really slowed me down and I felt so refreshed afterwards.

And so then I started to explore different ways of slowing down, yoga and a lot of other

rituals. And finally, I learned to meditate. But I didn't just sit down and automatically begin to experience beautiful meditations.

It took me a while.

And if you're new to meditation, I honor you for being right where you are,

whether you're seated, getting ready to meditate or not.
