First of all, I want to talk a little bit about creating a safe space in your home.

Honestly, this is something I'm still very much working on at the moment.

My boyfriend and I rent our apartment and even though we've

been here for nearly two years now, I haven't really intentionally created the positive spaces

I would like to have. There have been a couple of obstacles I've found such as money limitations,

the impermanence of renting and just generally being busy with other things.

For example, I would love to recreate our bedroom, hang a painting on the wall, buy a new bedspread, get matching bedside tables and get rid of any clutter. However, not only would this be an

expensive and time-consuming process, but it hasn't been a huge priority in the list of things we want to do.

I see all these really beautiful, minimal, light-filled bedrooms on Pinterest, and I think to myself, one day

I would love a room like that. So that's my positive space goal for the future. However, having said

that, our whole home feels like a safe space for me. Really, it's where I love to be in my spare

time and it has everything that we need,
