What's up everybody? You're listening to Trail Tales. My name is Kyle O'Grady and every single week on the show, except for last week. I, a through hiker, a peak bagger, a huge hiking nerd, interview other through hikers and other

peakbaggers and other hiking nerds about their experiences on the trail.

Julia Sheehan, a very highly requested guest, is on the show this week, and as I just noted

a few seconds ago, I didn't post an episode last week and this conversation was actually

recorded two weeks ago before I had decided not to post last week. As a result, it's kind of

outdated. A lot of the things that we talk about in relation to her upcoming PCT through

hike are outdated at this point as I'm sure everybody listening knows this whole

thing with coronavirus has kind of exploded out of nowhere and is changing rapidly

you know day to day and so I honestly just picked a bad week to skip so much has changed

and the reason it was a bad week to skip the reason that this conversation in particular is kind of outdated, parts of it are outdated, I'll say, is because we spend a decent amount of time talking about what would have been Rocket's 2020 PCT through hike.

And since this conversation, things have obviously changed and she even posted a video on her YouTube channel today saying that she probably won't be through hiking this year and so that's my disclaimer there don't listen to this and think it was recorded yesterday and think she's being negligent you know continuing, continuing her through hike. She most likely won't be.

And again, the timing is, it's interesting here because I felt like I needed to say something

about this whole situation and how it's going to be affecting the trail.

But I'm not a medical professional and honestly, I don't really know how it's going to

affect the trail

any more than anybody else does but Rocket happens to be a nurse okay so she's a

through hiker she understands through hiking and she's a nurse she has a medical

background and understands this coronavirus stuff a little bit more than I do

probably a lot more than I do.

And because of that and also because I want to hear her updated plans and let you guys know what those updated plans are,

we are most likely going to do another episode next week.

We haven't recorded it yet, so I don't want to 100% guarantee it, but we just talked about it,
