Welcome to a fresh new episode of New Mindset Who Dis, as always. Thank you so much for listening. Thank you for supporting me. And today, we have to talk about why we feel embarrassment for things we shouldn't. Why do we have such a bad relationship with embarrassment, with shame? Specifically, why do we feel embarrassed about so many things in life that have no weight,

that have no lingering effect, other than the one that we give by saying things like,

I'm so embarrassed.

I'm embarrassed.

This is so embarrassing.

And this is very specific to start, but it's important. I saw this TikTok from a woman

who is French. And she said the following that is a really great starting point about this topic.

She goes, hey, I have a question for American people. Why is everything so embarrassing?

I'm from France, and we never use that word, or at least the people I'm

surrounded by never do. I don't hear anyone saying, I'm going to, ah, that's so embarrassing.

Or I didn't do this because it's so embarrassing. What's embarrassing? Nothing's embarrassing.

You fell in front of everyone? That's life. Get up and keep walking. That's not embarrassing.

I mean, I don't think it's

embarrassing. It happened. So why would you be embarrassed? It happened. I would just be like,

oh shit, and move on. I don't understand. I need explanations. End quote there. A lot there,

certainly. Like, what is Americans obsession with being embarrassed? Culturally, who knows? But I really like what what is americans uh obsession with being embarrassed culturally who knows
