Hi, this is Steve. Almost 10 years ago, I had the great privilege of working with the wonderful

Joe Montaigne on my film The Assistance. In addition to being an incredibly talented actor

with an unbelievable resume, Joe also happens

to be one of the nicest, most genuine people I've ever met in the industry.

When I asked him what movie he would be interested in talking about at the Cinephiles,

his response was immediate and unequivocal. Joe wanted to talk about the 1938 classic, The Adventures of Robin Hood, starring Errol Flynn.

You see, it ends up that watching Errol Flynn on the big screen was what made young

Joe Montaigne want to be an actor in the first place. It is his all-time favorite movie

and I can certainly understand why. With breathtaking technicolor, fantastic action sequences,

and wonderful performances from Flynn, Basil Rathbone, Claude

Rains, and Olivia de Haviland, The Adventures of Robin Hood is the Arctypal Swashbuckler.

This is not only a great film but an important one whose influences can still be felt today.
