Hi, this is Steve. I actually love seeing movies by myself. In fact, some of my favorite

moviegoing experiences were solo, including Die Hard, John Wick, and Midnight Run.

Oh, right, scene movie solo.

In 1987, I had a few hours to kill between classes, so I walked down to the local multiplex on Shaddock Avenue in Berkeley to see what was playing.

I decided to take a chance on Rob Reiner's The Princess Bride.

After all, I was a huge fan of the Sure Thing, Spinal Tap, and Stand By Me.

I liked it within the first few minutes, fell in love during the sword fight on the Cliffs of Insanity insanity and knew it would be one of my all-time

favorites when Inigo finally got his revenge on the six-fingered man.

The Princess Bride was a box office disappointment when it came out in 1987.

But in the years that followed it soon became a treasured favorite,

one of those rare films that can be cherished by all ages

and is just as funny, thrilling, and heartwarming

no matter how many times you've seen it.

So if you haven't seen it, seriously, what are you waiting for?
