you know, almost 700 episodes. But today I want to talk about a mindset when it comes to people pleasing

that I think can give you a lot of

clarity perhaps a new way to think about why you and I and us why it's so common for us to revert to

people pleasing to not wanting to disappoint anyone else to putting other people's needs ahead of

our own and this idea starts with something that I read about on psychcentral.com.

And I'll talk about this and then I'll get into kind of the mindset that I think we can take from it.

And so I was reading about trauma responses on psych central, how we allow trauma in life to then

dictate how we respond to stress drama and so on down the line.

Someone had DMs me an article about something called the Fawn trauma response.

And this is basically the idea that when it comes to perceived threats in life, we generally

have one of four responses.

Three of these are going to sound really familiar to you. Fight, flight, freeze, and then there's a fourth. So I'll review these quickly.

Fight is clear, right? You respond to the threat with maybe some anger, with energy, with a willingness

to confront them. And I'm not talking about threats here in like an emotional sense.

I'm not talking about like someone physically attacking you. I'm talking about drama or an argument

or a confrontation and then how you react to it. So you have fight, right? You're willing to engage

that person you're willing to confront them to talk to them to lead the charge, to lean forward, and to be
