Hello and welcome to the new mindset hootis podcast. My name is Case Kenney at case.kens.k on

you become the person you're meant to be, leave your comfort zone and live a purposeful and

fulfilling life. Let's go.

Thank you. live a purposeful and fulfilling life. Let's go. All right. Welcome to episode 654. Hello, my friend. Welcome to a fresh new episode of New Mindset Who Dis, as always. Thank you so much for listening. Thank you for supporting me. And today, a mindset that I think is so powerful and like equally as powerfully worded as an author, as a writer, I was drooling when I saw this on Twitter. It's been like spreading around TikTok and Twitter.

1:11.3

So it is a little bit tough to say who originally wrote it or said it. It wasn't me. But it's

1:17.5

along the lines of this. It's in the title. It's not already yours. So what do you have to lose?

1:23.3

It's not already yours. So what do you have to lose? How great is that? I think this is such a powerful mindset, such a well-worded mindset when it comes to something

1:32.5

1:42.7

It's not already yours, so what do you have to lose?

1:45.6

It means exactly what it says. If something isn't currently in your possession, then the act of going

1:53.0

after it can't make you any worse off. Like you already don't have it. So it's either one step

1:58.1

forward or none at all. It's either one step forward or you stay right

2:02.7

where you are. You're not going back. You're not going down. You're not going to be worse off if it

2:07.5

doesn't go your way. Right. Like think about applying for a job. You're underqualified for in some small

2:13.1

way. The worst case scenario is they don't hire you. You stay in the same position that you're in right now.

2:19.4

The best case scenario, of course, is that you get the job. Very simple logic here. Really, it's just a

2:24.1

simple but a powerful mental reset that can really help you strip away fear of rejection by reminding

2:31.4

you that for the most part, again, there's caveats here, but for the most

2:34.9

part, taking a chance can only add to your life. It does not subtract from it, right? We'll get into
