So your grandfather started what is arguably

one of the most famous ones in the world

at Tenuta San Guido in Bulgery in Tuscany.

It started Sasakaya.

What was your grandfather like?

I know you grew up in that area in Bulgary.

What was that childhood like?

A privileged one in the sense that he was a very intelligent, inspired man with a vision and very much dedicated to his passions, wine being one of them but not the only one. In fact,

agriculture and farming and their breads were very much part of his interest and his life.

So it was a previous relationship in a sense that a grandfather doesn't have the same responsibility to his nephews as a dad would.

So it was a childhood field also with laughter, pranks, he was a prankster, but also a lot of mental

stimulation.

You know, I remember when often we asked what something meant, whether it was an object or a word or, and he would

make us stand up and grab the encyclopedia, this was pre- Internet area, and go through until we found that word and read out loud to the

other nephews that were usually at the table and so it is an individual that made us think and it was very much ahead of his time for multiple things you know he he wrote

books about agriculture as well and he was very much within the parameters of biodynamic philosophy without necessarily articulating that way.
