Like I really stand behind being a kind person, giving and giving and

being kind, giving first, instead of adopting the easier mentality, which is it's a dog eat dog

world, you gotta protect yourself first, everyone sucks, you should only match energy.

And, you know, usually I point to my experience as to why leading with kindness comes back to you like a boomerang every time. But today I want to point to an article that maybe will put some extra sauce on that about why giving first being the giver being the giver being the kind open eager person first rather than being the

defensive the skeptic the savage the take what you can get person why this mentality leads to more joy and success in life giving first.

And so the thing that inspired this one in particular

is it's an article from the New York Times it was written by

Adam Grant which basically says that in negotiations givers are smarter than

takers aka being a generous person is a sign of high intelligence. And I'll summarize you here because it's good within the context of business, but then we'll obviously zoom out to be more just a general mindset. But basically Grant talks about how in 2010 there was this woman,

Christina Figueres, who was tasked with something that many people said it was

really impossible, which was getting almost 200 countries to agree on a plan to fight climate change together.
