this is going to come down to improving that aspect in order to put us in a

better position to actually get things done and get the right things done.

Now as I mentioned in episode 629 of the show, this time of year is often focused on getting

ready for the year ahead. We start looking back on the year to see where we ended up and start making plans for what is to come in the future.

This year though makes that process particularly challenging and so I recommended back in episode 629

that instead of focusing on a goal,

you should focus on a theme for the year ahead.

Now, the basic idea of a theme was this. Rather than setting a

specific goal that you may have to abandon or fail at because things are so

uncertain about next year and the state of the economy and so and so forth set a theme choose

your focus for your year and then return to that theme when it makes sense

set goals when it makes sense rather than setting one from now and falling off. So this is a good

strategy, but with that said, there are going to be moments in the year ahead where having a specific goal is necessary

if you want to make consistent progress.

So what do you do in these moments to ensure you set a good goal that can be acted on as quickly as possible.
