Hey everybody, we've got a great one today, you know, for a change.

Amy Klobuchar.

Amy Klobuchar, senior senator from the great state of Minnesota, is with me.

And we're going to be talking about her book, Antitrust, and her book Antitrust is about

antitrust. She, in this book, does the whole nine yards, we go from Adam Smith and the

Wealth of Nations warning about monopolies all the way through, oh, you know, TR and the trust busters and then through the whole

20th century and then where we are today with high tech like Facebook and Amazon and Google

and Apple. So it's a panoramic trip of antitrust. And, you know, this was an issue that meant a lot

to me. I was on the subcommittee that Amy is now chair of. And I took a lot of interest in

telecommunications. I thought that some of our telecommunication companies were getting too big. When I first

got there, I was there only, I don't know, a couple weeks. And Comcast wanted to buy NBC and Universal.

And I was against it and everyone else was kind of okay with it.

And I lost.

I lost that one.

But, but, but I got conditions put on it, you see.

And that's, that, that often happens.

So the FTC, the Federal Trade Commission, and the FCC, that's their venue.

And you write in and you say, well, you know what?

They need to do a few things.

And part of what I put on it was that they needed to help people who couldn't afford

broadband, who couldn't afford to be connected to do that.

And they made some promises on that regard.
