Hey, everybody, a great one today, and this time I mean it. You know, for a change.

Ho-Fi is here. Howard Feyman, the legendary DC journalist. Howard wrote more than 300,000 cover

stories for Newsweek magazine when news magazines were in their heyday,

and I should probably fact check that number.

That's the kind of thing they did at Newsweek.

Eh.

Anyway, he adapted, Howard adapted quickly to the digital age, not just in print, but to television, where you no doubt have

seen his handsome face spouting the same kind of wisdom and insight that graced Newsweek

for so many years. But first, I want to take just a few moments to talk about perhaps the most heroic figure in the 232-year

history of the United States Congress, Liz Cheney. This from her speech, the brave, brave speech the other day.

Our duty is clear. Every one of us who has sworn the oath must act to prevent the unraveling of our democracy.

This is not about policy. This is not about partisanship. This is about our duty as Americans. Remaining silent and

ignoring the lie emboldens the liar. I will not participate in that. I will not sit back

and watch in silence while others lead our party down a path that abandons the rule of law and joins the

former president's crusade to undermine our democracy. Okay, now that was about two-thirds of the

way through the speech. So it wasn't for another three or four minutes that she was roundly booed

by her Republican colleagues. But you have to remember that

Liz Cheney had been a huge Trump supporter. The first two years of Trump's presidency,

Liz Cheney supported Trump's position on 95.8 percent of her votes. In the last two years, Cheney supported

Trump's position 92.8% of the time. Now, that's a higher level of support than Trump received

over the same period from Congressman Mark Meadows, who Trump later selected as his chief of staff.

And in 2019, this is what Liz Cheney said of the Democratic Party.
