Let's go. Oh, All right. Welcome to episode 615. Hello my friend. Welcome to a fresh new episode of New Mindseth, who this, as always, thank you so much for listening,

thank you for supporting me, and today I want to help us all appreciate being alive while we're still alive. Crazy thought, right? The joy of being alive,

the passion, the spontaneity, the pure happiness that comes from being present in being alive. And this is of course something that I think we all struggle with.

We're always somewhere else other than the current moment. I know I am. I feel like I'm

very rarely here. I'm usually in the future projecting

anticipating worrying preparing and it makes sense I suppose right like human

nature we are wired to look forward to plan to worry to anticipate it is a

survival mechanism that has been very helpful

It's it's allowed us as a species to thrive and to ensure that we're innovating and preparing for the future.

Yada yada.

But this constant forward thinking comes at a huge cost, which is we almost always

overlook the present, the thing that is all we literally

have. That is all we have. The past is gone. The future is not promised. All we have is the present, but we find ourselves in a perpetual state of anticipation.

And the result is we miss out on being alive, frankly.

And I would say this difficulty is deeply rooted. I think it exists very much within our cultural conditioning.

Society bombards us and bombards us with messages that success and happiness and romance and fulfillment,

they're always around the corner and the next promotion or the next relationship or the next big thing

you buy. We are taught from an early age to believe that the future holds our key to
