| 0:00.0 | Welcome to the Dr. Berg's Healthy Keto and Interminute Fasting podcast, where Dr. Berg takes you on the journey for the truth about getting healthy and losing healthy weights. |
| 0:27.1 | Let's talk about six unexpected signs of heart disease. |
| 0:32.8 | Now, since heart disease pretty much is the number one cause of death worldwide, compared to any other death, I think it's appropriate to understand this problem a little bit more, |
| 0:36.7 | especially the |
| 0:37.9 | unexpected or surprising signs or symptoms that can tell you you have a heart problem without |
| 0:44.5 | even knowing about it. Now, regarding heart failure, there's two different situations. You have |
| 0:52.1 | compensated heart failure and you have decompensated heart failure. Now, |
| 0:57.1 | what's the difference? What does that mean compensated? It means that when you have a weak heart |
| 1:01.2 | initially, you're not going to have the same output of blood flow or oxygen. So the body compensates |
| 1:09.5 | to help you out to increase the amount of blood flow by increasing |
| 1:14.2 | the pressure and the retention of sodium. So you can also increase the same amount of fluid |
| 1:20.1 | through the body. The body is trying to hold on to the fluid and increase the pressure and the |
| 1:24.8 | pulse rate. And so compensated heart failure has as its symptom, |
| 1:31.0 | no symptoms, except high blood pressure. Now, why would you have no symptoms? Well, because you're |
| 1:37.6 | getting the same output as a normal heart, but your numbers are just higher. So for a lot of people |
| 1:44.1 | that have high blood pressure, |
| 1:45.3 | there really is no symptoms, at least at first. And what's really interesting is that |
| 1:51.8 | people then just take a medication, which kind of camouflages and hides this little |
| 1:59.2 | indicator red flag situation. |
| 2:01.7 | And you go about your way and think, well, okay, good. |
| 2:03.8 | Now I no longer have high blood pressure. |
| 2:05.4 | So I'm good. |
