President-elect Donald Trump has named Brendan Carr as his pick to chair the Federal Communications Commission.

Carr is the senior Republican on the commission, and he wrote the FCC chapter in the conservative blueprint Project 2025.

On the social media platform X Sunday night, he took aim at tech companies for, quote, censorship,

promised to hold TV and

radio stations accountable, and pledged to end the FCC's promotion of diversity, equity,

and inclusion efforts. Claims of conservatives being censored erupted several years ago.

Officials at platforms such as Facebook and Twitter made content moderation decisions to reduce

misinformation online,

like election lies in COVID pandemic conspiracy theories.

The conservatives said the platforms were unfairly silencing their views.

Meanwhile, Trump apparently is expanding his pool of possible picks for Treasury Secretary.
