President-elect Donald Trump confirmed on Truth Social today that he's prepared to declare a national emergency to implement his deportation plan.

His team is trying to unlock Pentagon resources and tailoring that declaration to pave the way for expanding detention facilities.

In his first term, Trump declared a national emergency on the border with Mexico to get around Congress and use Pentagon funds for his border wall, which led to lawsuits.

But Trump's campaign promised to implement mass deportations could conflict with his other vow to bring

grocery prices down. The deportations could threaten to starve key industries such as food and

agriculture that rely on undocumented workers, and experts say this could mean higher food prices.

Trump has also proposed massive tariffs on food imported from overseas, which could also impact

checkout prices.

Lebanon's prime minister says U.S. Envoy Amos Hochstein is due to visit Beirut, quote,

eminently, after Lebanon responded, quote, positively to a U.S.-backed proposal to stop the Israel-Hesbila

war.

The PM said some parts of the draft agreement still need clarification and could be addressed in person.

A Lebanese official told CNN Iran-backed militant group Hezbollah reviewed the proposal and submitted their response to Lebanese authorities Sunday evening.

According to the official, the plan calls for a 60-day ceasefire and requires Israeli ground

forces in southern Lebanon to leave the country, among other things.

However, an Israeli source familiar with the talk says Hezbollah refuses to allow Israel

to strike its targets if they violate the agreement, which the source says could jeopardize

the process. Russian strikes killed at least 21 people in Ukraine over the past two days.

Ukrainian officials say a ballistic missile killed at least 10 people in Odessa and left

47 others injured this afternoon. On Sunday, Russian forces struck a residential area in Sumi,

killing 11 people, including two children.
