President-elect Donald Trump has picked Dr. Mehmet Oz to lead the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services.

The TV personality and cardiothoracic surgeon unsuccessfully ran for U.S. Senate in Pennsylvania in

2022, with Trump's backing, but lost to Democrat John Federman.

Meanwhile, three sources familiar with the plans say Vice President-elect J.D. Bance

will bring some of Trump's cabinet picks to Capitol Hill this week to meet with key Republican

senators who will be involved in the confirmation process.

Sources say Trump and his pick for Attorney General Matt Gates have been calling senators to lobby them to confirm him for the role.

That's amid growing calls from some top Republicans to access a long-awaited House ethics report on Gates.

Two sources tell Sienna the House Ethics Committee is expected to meet tomorrow about whether to release the report following Gates's resignation.

The sources added the meeting could get canceled as it did last week.

Gates had been investigated on allegations that include sexual misconduct and illicit drug use,

and has repeatedly denied wrongdoing.
