The Dowel tumbled more than than 1100 points today after a disappointing outlook from the Federal Reserve. The world's famous market indicator has fallen for 10 days in a row, marking its longest losing streak since

1974 when Gerald Ford was president.

The Fed cut interest rates by a quarter point, something Wall Street had expected, but

today Fed Chair Jerome Powell didn't rule out increasing rates again.

Here's CNN's Matt Egan.

What's really significant is they are making clear that there are no rush to do further

interest rate cuts next year.

And that has concerned investors.

The Fed had been penciling in four interest rate cuts for next year.

Now they see two cuts.

They also bumped up their inflation forecast for next year.

And they're not projecting that they're going to get back onto

target to their goal of 2% inflation until perhaps 2027.
