Republicans are expected to hear from candidates for House Speaker next week, and one of them already has a big endorsement in the bag.

Former President Donald Trump has thrown his weight behind Ohio Congressman Jim Jordan,

saying on social media that Jordan would be a quote, great Speaker of the House.

This comes after Trump said he would be a quote great speaker of the house. This comes after Trump said he would

be open to temporarily serving in the role himself. Jordan is one of two

candidates alongside majority leader Steve's galese who've announced their

candidacy and more could still throw their hats in the

ring. Jordan is a co-founder of the Freedom Caucus and the chair of the House Judiciary

Committee, one of the three committees behind the impeachment inquiry into President

Joe Biden.
